While ASPD can be challenging to treat, progress is possible with:-

  1. Psychotherapy ( CBT) – helps identify and change harmful thought patterns. Cognitive behavioural approaches may help individuals recognize the connection between thoughts, emotions and behaviour.
  2. Medication – For managing co- occuring issues like depression, anxiety or impulsivity.
  3. Rehabilitation Programs– provide structure, skill building and consistent support.

Family members and partners may find the situation emotionally difficult. It is important to maintain clear boundaries and avoid enabling harmful or dangerous behaviour.

Communication should remain calm and specific. If  there is violence, intimidation or a credible threat of harm, personal safety should take priority and appropriate emergency or professional services should be conducted.
