☘️. Can severe depression be treated?

Yes. Depression is treatable , although  treatment differs from person to person.

A mental health-professional may consider psychotherapy, medication, lifestyle interventions or a combination of approaches depending on the person’s symptoms, history and clinical needs.

Treatment should be individualized rather than based on internet advice alone.

Healthy routines can also support recovery. Regularly sleep, physical activity as tolerated, nutritious food,  social connection and reducing alcohol or substance use may be helpful alongside professional treatment.

More than 80 percent of people with clinical depression can be successfully treated with early recognition, intervention and support.

However,  lifestyle changes should not be considered a replacement for professional care when depression is severe.

Most people do best with depression treatment using psychotherapy, medications or a combination of both.

🌿. How can family and friends help?

Support from loved ones can make an important difference.

Instead of saying ” Just think positively,” try listening without judgement. Encourage the person to speak with a qualified mental-health professional and offer practical help if they are struggling with everyday tasks.

If you are concerned about suicide, ask directly and calmly about social thoughts. Asking about suicide does not create social thoughts;  it can provide any opportunity for someone in distress  to speak openly and receive help.

So, if you are getting depressed or any family members, consult the doctor for early treatment.

I hope, now it is clear that why depression treatment is necessary for a depressed person and to take care of him.
