Regularly sitting for more than 5-6 hours a day can increase the risk of developing medical problems and shorter life expectancy. Sitting for too long increases the risk of health problems such as heart disease, blood pressure, diabetes and back problems. Too much sitting can also be bad for mental health.

New research has shown that sitting down for more than 5-6 hours a day can cut the life expectancy of a person by 3 years even if he or she is physically active and fit and not having the habit of smoking or alcohol.

Watching TV, movies, playing games on mobile for more than 3-4 hours a day can decrease life expectancy by 1-3 years.
A lot of research papers and scientists found that people who watched Tv, working in an office in a sitting position for more than 5 hours a day were 47% more likely to die of any cause than people who spent less than 2 hours a day watching Tv or working. So, if you work continuously in a sitting position for more than 5-6 hours, around 80% likely to die of cardiovascular disease.

So, for preventing this, try to stand as much as anyone can. Try to take a break or go walking for few minutes.
Try to work on it in a standing position as much as anyone can do.

Several studies show that when he or she is sitting, his or her leg muscles are completely inactive and back problems can occur to them.

Scientists and researchers found that people who worked 8-10 hours per day in sedentary jobs or jobs that don’t require a lot of energy expenditure, had twice the risk of colon cancer and a 45% increased risk of rectal cancer and back problems compared with the people who had never worked sedentary jobs.

Researchers also found that the rate of health problems linked to obesity and lack of physical activity such as cancer of the pancreas, kidney problems, back problems, cancer of the lower oesophagus and uterus rose every year.
So, it is my advice that works hard, but take care of your health first. Do some exercise or Yoga daily, stretch your body from time to time during working in a sitting position.

Now, enjoy your work and keep fit.
